The ATIEC Extension program seeks to establish sustainable agricultural development activities within rural villages in Tanzania.  The program has been developed by CultivAid in collaboration with Don Bosco Technical Institute, Water4Mercy and Innovation Africa. Utilizing the water infrastructure established by Innovation Africa, a drip irrigated plot is established at each of the villages. The plots are managed by AITEC’s agronomists and operated by a village committee of mostly women leaders.  A graduate of the AITEC agricultural training program is relocated to the village to support the site operation and training of village members.     

The plots demonstrate different technologies and seek to introduce commercial agriculture to rural villages promoting resilience and self-sufficiency.
